Identified problem
Like any living organism, viruses multiply and spread for survival. Covid -19 spreads from person to person directly through droplets that an infected person sneezes/coughs out or indirectly through a medium that contains droplets from the infected person.
Person who comes in direct contact with a covid-19 patient hence has to cover their nose and mouth to avoid direct transfer of virus. However, in the case of indirect transfer, one wouldn’t realise that they have picked up the virus through a surface that the infected person has earlier come in contact with. In such cases, If the person doesn't wash their hands, he could move the virus into your eyes, nose or mouth and become infected or can spread the virus to other people over handshakes, usage of shared items.
As a means to control the spread of Covid -19 virus, health organisations have enforced washing hands regularly and using hand sanitisers. However, we touch our faces so often that the odds of decontaminating our hands between washings is high. Studies have found that people touch their faces more than 16 times in an hour.
Considering the human behaviour, we should make sure that humans do not touch their faces unconsciously and when in need they should remember to clean hands before touching their face.
Solution
Based on the problem statement, we need a product that prevents users from unconsciously touching their faces. This product should be intuitive, easy to use, to carry around, produced in bulk and easily cleaned.
